ECA Group announces the release of H300-V, a new 300m Rated Inspection-Class ROV

The H300-V ROV has been developed to meet the demanding markets using observation class ROVs in harsh environments. Powerful while portable and compact, H300-V is a new vehicle designed and tested upon a full range of requests coming from worldwide ROV users.

Equipped with 4 horizontal vectored thrusters, H300-V can reach up to 3,5 knots speed.

As any ROV of ECA Group "H series", H300-V integrates in standard one navigation B&W TV camera as well as one inspection color zoom TV camera with optical zoom mounted on a genuine Pan & Tilt unit.

Combined with auto heading and auto depth functions, the H300-V is able to record videos and data under strong current at 300m depth.

Finally, the payload capabilities of H300-V (up to 15kg) would enable any scope of missions in any required configuration (any type of sonar, USBL, electric manipulator arms, altimeter with auto altitude function, and more...)

Directly positioned on the ECA ROV range between H300 MK2 (300m range) and H800 (1000m range ; 4,5 knots speed) vehicles, H300-V is already being used by several Navies and offshore service companies where accuracy of piloting and robustness are their main requirements.

Interview with Philippe Roumegue – Sales Director – Robotics Department – ROVs

Can you introduce this new ROV H300-V ?

H300-V is a new ROV launched by ECA Group at the occasion of Oceanology International North America and Underwater Intervention 2017. H300-V is a new release of the ECA Group ROV H300 dedicated to observation and inspection missions.

What does V stand for?

V stands for « Vectored thrusters » and in comparison to H300 MK2 standard model which does not have this option.

Why did you decided to release a new version of the H300 ROV ?

There are two main reasons for this new version of ROV H300.The first, is the need to enhance speed performances and all-directions operating quality of the vehicle, leads us to equip this ROV with 4 vectored thrusters. The second, is the growing demand to work with an ECA Group ROV having the same properties than the H800 ROV but specialized for shallow waters at a maximum of 300 meters depth. The great success of our ROV H800 (4,5 knots – 1000m depth) has convinced us to develop a compact and portable 300 m version.

What is the main difference of this new ROV ? What makes it different from the other ECA Group ROVs ?

Its portability of less than 80 kg in standard configuration and its integrated PSU into CCU enables to transport this equipment easily from site to site. With its 3,5 knots performances, the H300-V ROV can work in very harsh underwater conditions.

Is the ROV H300-V already in operation ?

Yes, 4 systems have already been delivered to an Asian Navy. We have also several orders from Middle East, Europe and Asia.

What is the next step, since ECA Group never stops innovating ?

The development of hull cleaning system for the ROVING BAT system is in progress. The first sea trials are very promising and we look forward to launch it to the market within the next few weeks.
