About the Drogen - IT180 UAV
The IT180 is a versatile Vertical Take-Off (VTOL) Rotary Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The IT180 UAV has been in service since 2012 in the Engineer units of the French Army (Génie) under the name DroGen ("Drone for Génie").
Its observation capabilities, low noise footprint and ease of use, ensures troops a perfect control of the immediate environment and confirmation of intelligence on a particular point up to 3 kilometres ahead of a convoy.
Operational in the theatre of operations in just a few minutes thanks to its compact design, the IT180 aerial drone provides real-time high quality images and videos, day or night.
It is particularly suited for missions such as: close reconnaissance, improvised explosive devices (IED) detection, convoy escort and area surveillance.
