This project consists in modifying the current assembly tables (18 meters long) in Hamburg and Saint-Nazaire Airbus plants, in order to give possibility to the operators to move the tables during assembly phases by rotating and/or translating the entire frame. That way, operators will be able to choose angle, position and altitude of the frame on demand, to reach the best ergonomically working position and to optimize lead time and quality.
ECA Group developed a specific and compact mechanical unit. Several of these units will be installed under the frame and connected to a centralized control command system. In this case, two operators insure security during movements. This modular system could be reused for other applications.
