A global player in aerospace simulators
Committed for more than 50 years to designing sea, underwater, air and land drones, in addition to integrated systems, ECA Group has an extensive line of driving and training simulators with state-of-the-art technology. The Group brought together this entire range within its Simulation division: ECA Faros.
Drawing on its 25 years of experience, ECA Group has developed unique expertise in simulation software and cutting-edge technologies, such as real-time 3D rendering. Within this context, ECA Group is a world leader in aerospace simulators intended to train pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers. The Group is recognized by Airbus and Boeing, among others.
Moreover, thanks to its skills acquired in the highly competitive global market of civilian driving simulation, ECA Group extends its activities by developing and supplying a range of new-generation simulators for military vehicles in a Middle Eastern country. This new generation includes 6-axis mobile platform which permits a maximum immersion experience in a simulated environment and a collaborative network training.
The support of the Lannion Trégor Community
The Lannion Trégor Community provides key support to the Trégor economy. Accordingly, the urban agglomeration has total rental industrial property of 135,000 sq.m, including more than 5,000 sq.m in clean rooms. Within this context, ECA Faros and the Lannion Trégor Community agreed to a dual project comprising:
- An exchange of property: ECA Faros sold its two office buildings (991 sq.m) and workshop (864 sq.m) in exchange for part of the Espace Bienvenue building in Lannion, comprising 1,300 sq.m of office space and 648 sq.m of technical platforms,
- The construction by Lannion Trégor Community of short-stay working premises covering 2,000 sq.m in continuation of the Espace Bienvenue building, totaling €1,400,000, occupied since the summer of 2015 by ECA Faros and supported financially by Lannion Trégor Community and the Regional Council of Brittany.
Thanks to this project, ECA Faros currently has nearly 4,000 sq.m of office space in Lannion, near a complementary and high-performance industrial ecosystem comprising of 4,500 engineers and researchers mainly working in the digital, photonics, electronics and materials processing sectors.
Momentum driven by ECA Group
Upon opening these new premises, Jean-Louis Sambarino, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ECA Faros, made the following statement: "Thanks to its skills acquired in the civilian driving simulation market, a highly competitive global market, ECA Faros was selected to develop a range of new-generation simulators for military vehicles."
This range will include 6-axis mobile technology and will in particular enable collaborative network simulation. The success of ECA Faros is generated by the positive momentum experienced by the entire ECA Group, which currently comprises of 3 divisions: Robotics & Integrated Systems, Aerospace and Simulation, and this year celebrates 80 years in business.
Since 1936, ECA Group has been developing complete, innovative technological solutions for missions in hostile and confined environments. Its product range is aimed at international customers with high demands in terms of safety and effectiveness, mainly in the defence, aerospace, simulation, energy and industrial equipment sectors.
