Naval Simulator Mistral 4000 for La Spezia port extension project

ECA Group and the Port Authority of La Spezia have signed a contract to supply a navigability study for the new project to extend the port of La Spezia for hosting the largest cruise ships in the world.

ECA Group has created a dedicated virtual model of one of the biggest cruise ship in the world and has modified the geographical configuration of the port in order to customize it as per the new expansion project. 2D and 3D models have been created online according to the users’ requests.

In presence of the Pilot, the tugboat captain, the Italian Coast Guard, the Port Authority of La Spezia and a qualified ECA Group Simulator Instructor various navigability trials have been conducted.

ECA Group offered a support with its Training Simulator MISTRAL 4000 and its capability to simulate complex and various scenarios in which the seafarers are called to work.

The crew has sailed on board of the simulated model of this huge cruise ship.

MISTRAL 4000 Full Mission Bridge Simulator allows an accelerated and intensive experience in a safe and controlled environment with a risk free emergency response training and interiorizing of shipboard procedures.

The tests and the consequent technical assessment have been developed in different meteorological conditions and in different operative contexts.

At the end of the tests, through the instruction station of the Simulator System Mistral 4000 the video and data recording of the exercises have been analyzed for evaluation purposes.

The Port Authority of La Spezia has expressed its great satisfaction for the work conducted by ECA Group and the cooperation with the professional people working to test the new database and the related harbour maneuvers.
