The Nautical Institute San Giorgio is an ECA Group Customer since the 2000s; it is one of the oldest Italian technical schools, being established in 1827 on a Savoy Royal Decree.
In all these years, its function has been to form deck and engineer officers for the Italian Merchant Marine.
The system installed is a Mistral 4000 simulator of interactive multi –functional dashboard "SHIPSIM" that allows the learning of maneuvering techniques in a realistic and dynamics environment, compliant with STCW and DNV-GL regulation.
The ECA Group Simulator System is composed by an instructor station for the creation, management and analysis of exercises and three student workstations equipped with: Radar ARPA Simulator, Consilium ECDIS Professional Cartography System, External Vision Simulator, GMDSS communications simulator and Simulator with conning monitor and a desktop maneuvering console.
Mistral 4000 Ship Handling Simulator allows an accelerated and intensive experience in a safe and controlled environment risk free emergency response training and interiorizing of shipboard procedures
The high flexibility of the system and the use of flexible interactive consoles are giving the possibility to perform a multi-purpose training for IMO courses in a realistic and dynamic environment.
Due to the good and strong relationship with the School, ECA Group will continue working with San Giorgio Nautical Institute in the future, in order to maintain the high quality level of its trainees and give to the Institute the possibility to perform advanced training for professional seafarers in the next future.
