ECA Group delivers a highly equipped H800 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to the Geneva navigation police to support their underwater Search And Rescue operations.
The navigation police of Geneva is a Swiss government body in charge of the safety on and around Lake Geneva. In order to enhance their underwater survey activities such as Search & Rescue, inspection of wrecks and recovery of objects, the Geneva Navigation Police was looking for a compact and powerful ROV capable of operating underwater in an environment with poor visibility.
Following a successful demonstration at Lake Geneva, ECA GROUP was selected to deliver its H800 ROV, specifically tailored to the client’s requirements.

To specifically conduct Search & Rescue operations, the H800 ROV system has been equipped with:
- A powerful scanning sonar to map the lake bed;
- A 5E Micro, an eco-friendly five axe electric manipulator arm offering intervention capabilities for complex tasks requiring high accuracy;
- An USBL positioning system for accurate underwater positioning;
- An altimeter with auto-altitude function enabling navigation close to the lake bed.
About the Geneva navigation police
The navigation police ensures the safety of Lake Geneva and the rivers of the canton, checks compliance with navigation rules and monitors ports. This government body saves people and carries out diving searches. It intervenes in the canton of Geneva area and beyond, in missions involving the rescue and protection of people and property.
