ECA Group has entered an order from Sogea-Satom, a major construction company operating in Africa, for a BH Viewer 200 TV inspection system. The system is designed for wells inspection up to 200m depth and is able to detect potential dysfunctions through visual inspection of the entire well.
The user will operate this system for inspection duties inside water wells belonging to the Benin National Water Company (SONEB).
In Benin, the particularity of groundwater resources is that they are found within shallow depths (max. 200m)
Further to the delivery of a water borehole inspection system, ECA Group was also granted the full training of future operators.
With the logistic support of Sogea-Satom, this training took place in a SONEB operating base, close to Cotonou. It was conducted by an ECA Group technician including:
3 full days of training- 7 operators trained from both Sogea-Satom and SONEB

- Operation of the equipment and its maintenance, for optimum performance
- Safety aspects related to water borehole inspection operations
- Use of the borehole inspection control software Forasoft
About BH viewer 200
BH Viewer 200 is an innovative TV inspection systems, incorporating a high resolution swivelling head colour TV camera and a powerful lighting that can inspect wells with ID ranging from 4 to 32’’.Thanks to its swivelling head equipped with lasers, the TV camera permits a thorough inspection of the borehole lateral walls, as well a measurement of cracks and defects, directly from the video.
It comes with a dedicated reporting software, Forasoft, for the edition of the inspection report.
