Since 2014, five complete consoles have already been designed, produced, and delivered by Exail. The construction of the sixth system will begin in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027. These advanced piloting systems are built around Opsys, the integrated computer developed by Exail, which serves as the system’s intelligence core, ensuring precise, reliable, and scalable control. Each unit’s development mobilizes nearly two years of work across Exail’s electronics, software, mechanical, and integration teams. Beyond the delivery of systems, Exail provides comprehensive support from integration through to onboard commissioning, enabling long-term knowledge transfer to its partners.
"Building a steering console is both a technological and human challenge. Each delivery demonstrates the excellence of our expertise and the dedication of our teams. In July 2025, the fourth pilot station was successfully commissioned. The teams validated all interfaces with the submarine’s other systems, confirming the robustness and reliability of the solution.”
With 15 pilot stations already in service worldwide, Exail confirms its position as a trusted partner for international navies, capable of designing modular, scalable systems built to last for decades. More than operational interfaces, these steering consoles embody a strategic capability: by unifying navigation, propulsion, and control systems through the Opsys core, they enhance mission safety, tactical efficiency, and long-term naval autonomy.
