The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is the leading agency in road safety of the Republic of South Africa.
RTMC has initiated a Learner Driver Programme aiming to decrease the number road accidents amongst young people in South Africa. By raising awareness through driving skills education, behavior and attitude on the road, road crashes can be avoided or lessened. Young drivers are the most vulnerable to this kind of accident due to peer pressure, overconfidence, risk-taking behaviour and lack of experience.
In order for this programme to be successful, The RTMC is willing to improve road safety knowledge at and post-school youth and intensify road safety skills at an early age.
To do so, RTMC selects EF-Car Motion driving training simulators for its capability to improve road safety skills, behaviour and attitude while also reaching a larger number of beneficiaries at a reasonable cost.
Having tested both ECA GROUP driving simulators, the EF-CAR and EF-CAR Motion, the RTMC has experienced the quality and accuracy of both hardware and software. The RTMC stated for the EF-CAR Motion, for its motion platform allowing to recreate in a dynamic way vehicle's behaviour and driving sensations.
The pedagogical qualities of ECA GROUP training solutions were also highlighted by the RTMC. The driving simulators will be used in the training of novice drivers - to put theory into practice with a wide range of scenario. Simulation-based training will allow students to build up confidence and improve basic driving skills in preparation for practical driving culminating to the attainment of driving licence.
