ECA Group successfully demonstrates its R7 ROV’s operational efficiency to the Belgian Navy and Police
Securing inshore areas and city harbours from underwater mines is essential to guarantee the safety of populations and to protect a nation’s economy. At ECA Group, supporting government authorities’ capability to address underwater mine threats is crucial.
During the trials, in operational conditions and in a harsh environment, the R7 ROV inspected the port, detected and approached a suspicious object, and, neutralised it with Alford Technologies’ device.

- Designed to perform a wide range of tasks, the R7 ROV’s modular architecture can integrate several plugins such as sensors and manipulator arms.

This successful demonstration confirms the R7 ROV as a concrete solution in support of harbour protection.
To further meet the Navies’ operational requirements, ECA Group demonstrated the high performances of its new high tech ROV in very difficult weather conditions and underwater visibility limited to a few centimetres.
