ECA Group has entered an order for a 7E Mini electric manipulator arm from a Korean Research Institute specialized in long term studies on underwater robotics.
The electric arm was selected for its 7-function performances as part of a study project to improve Remotely Operated Vehicles' buoyancy features.
ECA Group offers a wide range of lightweight electric manipulators, and its 7E Mini model fulfilled totally the requirements of the client, which already owned a 5 function electric mini manipulator arm from ECA Group.
The institute was looking for a lightweight, though powerful 7 function manipulator arm to be installed on their experimental compact ROV, to carry on tests for design engineering purposes. With this equipped ROV, the Research Institute will aim at developing additional thrusters so as to compensate for the net weight and momentum of the arm (in folded and deployed positions) and thereby maintain an optimum stability during operations.
This 7E Mini electric arm was delivered at the end of 2017.
About ECA Group 7E Mini electric manipulator arm
it is a 7-function oil filled electric manipulator arm for manipulations in hot cells. Eco-friendly, it is designed with a small footprint using a Zero Oil System, eliminating any threat of hydraulic fluid leaking into the environment.
The 7E Mini electric manipulator arm offers a lift capacity of 25 kg at full extension (1440 mm), for a weight in water of only 30 kg and requiring only a 24 Vdc power supply.
