To increase their protection and surveillance missions capabilities, the Public Security of Monaco are equipped with several robotic means.
The Principality were already equipped with an ECA Group's CASTOR robot delivered in 2004 and were willing to extend their equipment in 2018.
Renewing their trust in ECA Group, The Public Security of Monaco decided to upgrade for the latest generation of ECA Group Unmanned Ground Vehicle : The IGUANA E UGV.
About IGUANA E Unmanned Ground Vehicle
A compact and modular design
The IGUANA E is a compact intervention robot developed on the same architecture as the other EOD robots of the ECA Group range (COBRA MK2 and CAMELEON) in order to carry out demining missions, for Counter IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) and EOD (Neutralization, Removal and Destruction of Explosives).
Thanks to its modular design, the IGUANA E can be equipped with different modules and have both civilian and military applications, including performing ISR, EOD & CBRN missions.
Operational in all environments
Operational day and night, the IGUANA E can be used in different environments, whether in town, in the countryside or indoors (airport, railway station, underground, tunnels, airplanes, buses, subways, etc.). In addition, the mobile base and its modules have been designed to be very resistant, which allows the IGUANA E to be operated by all climatic conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, fog) but also on any type of terrain (earth, sand, grass, concrete, asphalt, mud, etc.).
An efficient tool to deal with suspicious objects
IGUANA, like its predecessor, can be equipped with a portable X-ray system to determine the contents of packages or luggage. For explosive ordnance disposal missions, the robot destroys suspicious packages using disrupter water cannons.
