Carrier suppression and frequency comb modulation
ModBox
Exail ModBox for Carrier Suppression and Frequency Comb Modulation is an optical transmitter frequency shifter based on high-order optical Carrier Suppressed and residual carrier Single Side Band modulation. These versatile transmitters allow precise control of the carrier level, achieving coherent modulation schemes like CS-SSB. By coupling an IQ modulator with an RF coupler, the system effectively splits the RF signal towards the I and Q sub-Mach-Zehnder's RF inputs, utilizing tunable delay lines and an RF driver. The effectiveness of carrier and side band suppression depends on factors such as RF power, RF power balance, optical signal wavelength, RF modulation frequency, and I/Q phase shift, making it a proven solution for high side band and carrier suppressions.
