The K-Ster C stands as a lightweight expandable underwater mine disposal vehicle, tailored for missions involving underwater mine neutralization. Thanks to exceptional efficiency, and adaptability, the K-Ster sets new benchmarks for mine countermeasures missions.

Features
- Neutralizing the smartest mines : The K-Ster C effectively neutralizes an array of mines ranging from sea bottom ground mines and floating moored mines to historical ordnance mines and sophisticated smart mines..
- Advanced design: Its patented tilting head (from -90° to 90°), housing the shaped charge, coupled with a robust battery power supply, empowers the K-Ster C to operate efficiently even in high currents.
- Sea proven & NATO standard compliant: Exail’s K-Ster C integrates the most advanced technologies in terms of reduced acoustic and magnetic signatures, and underwater ammunitions’ safety. Its design and qualification have been assessed by DGA/IPE in France as well as the relevant authorities of the British (DOSG) and Singaporean (DSTA) Ministries of Defence.
An efficient and powerful Mine Disposal System (MIDS)
This advanced Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) is designed to remotely neutralize sea mines, ensuring crew safety by keeping them out of hazardous minefields. Its tiltable head houses a shape charge filled with highly insensitive explosive, enabling precise targeting and efficient disposal of sea mines.
Neutralising sea mine from a safe stand-off spot
The K-Ster C is purpose-built for stand-off operations. Operators have the flexibility to deploy this vehicle from a conventional Mine Countermeasures Vessel (MCMV) and control it from a command-and-control unit positioned beyond the confines of the minefield, whether on a ship or on land. Moreover, the K-Ster C offers the added capability of automatic deployment from Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) platforms or RHIBs (Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats).

Operating in harsh conditions
Its unique propulsion architecture enables resilience against strong water currents and maneuverability around mines. The K-Ster C mine disposal system offers exceptional performance in terms of both hovering capability and stability even in turbulent waters.
Equipped with state-of-the-art propulsion systems and precision controls, the K-Ster C boasts unparalleled maneuverability, enabling it to navigate complex underwater environments, with ease and precision. This agility translates to enhanced operational efficiency and successful mission outcomes.
An user-friendly ROV for mission success
The K-Ster C presents a distinctive neutralization efficiency owing to its automated features that aid piloting, including auto transit, stabilization, and hovering. The user-friendly command and control software incorporates automated piloting functions, ensuring a secure operation from deployment through to the final firing. It intuitive interface facilitates swift and efficient mine disposal operations. Safety characteristics include insensitive ammunition & multi-pole safety interlocks until the final firing.

A key component of UMIS - Exail’s MCM turnkey solution
The K-Ster C MIDS ROV is fully integrated in UMIS, Exail’s drone-based toolbox for Mine Countermeasures. This configuration allows the seamless and simultaneous use of unmanned assets from a common interface to intervene faster and safer while avoiding down times. All operations can be planned, prepared, supervised, and analysed through the common software Umisoft.
K-Ster CT for training purpose
Exail has also developped a dedicated version of the The K-Ster C for training purposes. The K-Ster CT is equipped with an inert warhead, allowing for realistic and effective training without the risks associated with live ordnance.
