Digital drivers

To address digital applications Exail offers a set of dedicated wideband RF amplifier modules: the DR-DG serie. They are specifically designed for telecommunication modulation formats up to 44 Gb/s.
Using RF drivers are generally mandatory to amplify the electrical signal delivered by a PRBS (Pseudo Random Bit Sequence) or an AWG (Arbitrary Waveform Generator) generators so as to reach the optimum amplitude before applying it to the modulator RF port.
The DR-DG drivers are key components to obtain high quality eye diagrams with high SNR, low jitter and fast rise and fall times. They operate from a single power supply for safety and ease of use, and offer gain control.
Digital applications can also be performed using the DR-VE drivers. These RF amplifier modules are VErsatile and work for analog, pulse and digital application. Using the digital preset ensures a very good signal to noise ratio, fast rise and fall times and a very low time jitter. An embedded microcontroller allows the user to select the right operating mode and have a custom tuning mode where the gain, amplitude and cross point can be optimized.
Exail drivers come in a compact connectorized module that match (mechanically and impedance) directly with Exail phase and intensity modulators.
