
Exail’s Polarizing (PZ) fiber is engineered to guide only a single polarization state along the fiber, rapidly attenuating any other polarization states and thereby providing a high intrinsic polarization extinction ratio. This effect is achieved through a specialized waveguide design combined with optimized glass composition, resulting in both high birefringence and controlled leakage behavior.
PZ fibers are available at multiple wavelengths, featuring a broad polarizing window (typically exceeding 100 nm), low attenuation, and a high extinction ratio (≥ 30 dB). The central operating wavelength can be tuned by adjusting the fiber length and coil diameter.
