Compact and transportable: Light and compact, the A9-M is easily transportable by road and plane for overseas missions.
Easy to deploy and operate: The A9-M can be quickly deployed and recovered by two men using small crafts, rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIBs) and other ships. Mission preparation, deployment and recovery takes only a few minutes.
High-resolution imagery: The A9-M has been designed as a very stable platform in order to get the best sonar images. It is also fitted with a video camera and a forward-looking sonar for obstacle avoidance.
Accurate navigation system : Equipped with high end INS and DVL.
Modular architecture for easy maintenance : The A9-M was developed by incorporating modular architectural techniques, which allow easy maintenance of the vehicle.
STANAG 1364 compliant : Low magnetic and acoustic signature in order not to trigger any underwater mine when surveying an area.
Smart communication system: The A9-M comes outfitted with both RF and underwater acoustic communication systems, enabling transmission of AUV status updates and instructions
Endurance in the most demanding conditions: The A9-M can endure strong currents effortlessly and showcases endurance capability of up to 20 hours with dual battery option.
Versatility and customization
The A9-M excels in offering customizable configurations tailored to specific mission requirements. Whether for homeland security or defense operations, its versatility caters to a multitude of applications such as:
Mine detection and classification
Seabed survey
Rapid environment assessment
Search and Rescue
Harbor and Coastal surveillance

A wide choice of payloads for accurate seabed survey
The open design of the A9-M facilitates seamless integration of diverse payloads and sensors. Thanks to its precise navigation system and advanced Side Scan sonar, the A9-M excels in gathering comprehensive data and capturing high-resolution imagery during a singular survey.
Its payload includes high-definition video equipment, a suite of conductivity, temperature, and density (CTD) sensors, and environmental sensors. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with an obstacle-avoidance system, fault and leak detection tools, a strobe light, local remote control capabilities, and an emergency alert system.
Software for mission planning and analysis
The A9-M is delivered with a comprehensive software suite for mission planning, real-time mission monitoring as well as data post-processing and report generation. This can
be combined with an unmanned surface vessel acting as a gateway.
A9-M, an essential component of the UMIS MCM toolbox
Once integrated within Exail's UMIS (Unmanned MCM Integrated System) for mine countermeasures, the A9-M AUV collaborates with Exail's suite of surface and underwater drone systems through a unified control and command structure, effectively reducing mission durations and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
